Your custom suit consultant should take no less than 20 measurements at your initial fitting. This attention to detail ensures that the suit will compliment your unique physique.
Here are a few fitting features you can expect with a custom-made suit.
The jacket lies smoothly over your shoulders and across your back, and looks proportional to your physique. The jacket is long enough to cover up your entire seat, but not too long. The jacket buttons without strain, and there is no more than three inches of space between the button and the chest.
Jacket sleeves end at the point where your hands meet your wrists (at the wrist bone) and allow for ¼ to 1/2 inch of your shirt cuff to be visible. Higher armholes may help your suit to drape better on your body without feeling tight or binding.
The collar hugs the back of the neck without buckling or pulling, staying in place through a reasonable range of motion. It will also lie flat across the collarbones in front.
Lapels lie flat to your chest, and don’t bunch up or buckle.
Vents are in the flap of cloth below the waist at the back of the jacket that covers your seat. You can have one, two, or no vents depending on your body type. If you have a large backside, two vents are advisable; if you have a very flat backside, you can opt for no vents. The idea is to not have the back of the jacket stretching across your seat.
The trousers should have no tugging in the crotch. There are no ripples to the shoe, where plain or cuffed trouser bottoms should touch the instep in front and just cover the back. Cuffs help the pants provide a little weight at the bottom and help the pants to hang correctly.
The waistline is comfortable; you can stick two fingers into the waist while you're wearing them. Suit pants tend to be worn a bit higher than jeans, which are usually worn on the hip. Usually the waist of suit pants falls at or just below the navel.

Just wanted to drop you a note and tell you the new shirts are great. The fit is perfect and I don't have to go "tuck in" before every meeting.

Thanks guys for the great work on my new suit. I wore it today for the first time and by the end of the meeting everyone was asking where I got it...
