Custom Blazers and Custom Made Sports Coats from The Custom Suit Shop Are Perfect for Dress Casual or Business Functions
Custom Blazers and Sports coats are very versatile. Sports Coats can work to dress you up for client meetings if your office is normally business casual. They also work well for going out in the evening.
What's the difference between a blazer and a sports coat?
Custom made blazers include solid-colored jackets such as navy blue, black, green, khaki or camel. The blazer is one of the most classic and versatile pieces for your business wardrobe and can be worn with jeans, khakis or gray flannel trousers. The classic look includes brass buttons. On the other hand, sports coats are more varied in colors and patterns. A custom made sports coat can be made with any of the super fine worsted wool or woolen fabrics, in varied colors and patterns.
If you can have only one jacket, make it a blue blazer. A blazer can be worn day to evening and should be able to work with various looks. In Atlanta, and throughout the southeast, the blazer is a classic look that fits in at casual business meetings, beach resorts, your child's school play, country club functions or corporate sales meetings.
Both types of jackets are sized from your chest and built from the shoulders, and that is where a jacket should match the shoulder slope and fit you best. Your height determines the length of your custom made sports coat. At your fitting at Custom Suit Shop you can specify if you want to leave a little extra room for a sweater under the jacket. You can also choose any of the premium fabrics we carry, used by bespoke tailors around the world. With a custom made sports coat you can control the details like lapel and collar width, the number of vents and buttons.
For a classic sports coat look, choose a lapel width between three and four inches. Most jackets have two to three buttons. The tip of the lapel reaches about halfway between the collar and the shoulder. Vents or slits on the back of the jacket make it easy to move and stretch. The American jacket has a single vent in the middle of the garment. The British jacket has one vent on each hip. The Continental sports coat has no vents and hugs the body.
