Super Numbers - Why Fine Worsted Wools are Labeled Super 100 or Super 150

The Custom Suit Shop has an excellent selection of super fine worsted wools. We have contacted the finest mills around the globe and they have supplied us with an unmatched selection of high quality worsted wools. What this means for you as the customer is that you can have an incredible selection at whatever price range that you have selected. The Custom Suit Shop offers you a higher quality and a better price on super fine wool, than any of our competitors. Because of the way we have sourced our product and set up our tailor shops, there is no one who can match our quality and price. The Custom Suit Shop will enjoy taking care of you as a new customer. The hardest decision that you will need to make when you come into our shop is what level of luxury that you will want to enjoy in your suits. One of our highly trained clothiers will help you narrow your choices to what would fit logically into your wardrobe.

While there are many other fabrics for a quality suit, such as woolens and cashmeres, the worsted wools are the main fabric used in custom suits. Most of the best quality wools come from England. Wool worsteds are used because of their finer quality and they can last for years with the proper care.

Worsted wool cloth is rated in Super numbers. Super 100s, Super 110s, Super 120s, Super 130s, Super 140s, Super 150s or higher. This number tells you how long and thin the fibers are that were used in producing the fabric. The higher the number, the finer the cloth, and the better it will feel to wear. The trade off is that the higher numbers feel great, but may not last quite as long and resist wrinkling as stouter worsted wools with lower numbers. If you must have the finest worsted wool then go for the higher numbered wools. The finer yarns in the worsted cloth also allow the weavers to use more colors and intricate patterns in the fabric. On the other hand, if you prefer your custom suits to last for many years, you may choose the more affordable worsted wools in classic pin stripes and checks.

Picking a fabric for a fine quality suit has never been easier since the opening of The Custom Suit Shop. Drop by or schedule a closed door appointment, to see our extensive collection of 100s, 120s, 130s, 140s up to super 200s wool worsteds. You will enjoy the atmosphere and the selection.

Selecting Premium Wool Fabrics for your Custom Suits at Atlanta's Custom Suit Shop

Good tailors do not like to waste their skills on inferior material. The preferred materials are the natural fabrics like woolens, luxurious cashmeres and silks. Modern worsted wools outperform heavier cloth due to a combination of softness and superior strength. You should look for cloth that has a soft feel or "hand" and it should drape well without wrinkling. By using the finest fabrics, the Custom Suit Shop can create the suit syle you prefer, with a perfect fit and impeccable cut.
